Participants ages 14-17 yrs must be accompanied by a legal guardian who is also registered for the class. Prerequisites: No experience needed. Skills Taught: The focus of the class will be for each student to work on their own set blacksmithing tongs, which they will take with them at the end of the class. You will be introduced to the parts of the anvil and how they are used; hammer control for effective movement of metal; the basics of punching a hole, drawing out, tapering and bending; operation of a propane forge, and shop safety.
