KEY FEATURES ‘Heavy duty’ high-temperature Silica Glass fabric Max recommended working temperature / exposure: 1100°c Max short term / momentary heat resistance: ~1600°c For protection against heavier sparks & spatter, etc Also used for heat treatment / stress relieving / heat retention (wrapping of heated objects to slow cooling) Gives off very minimal gas/fumes when burned, for safer use and to prevent surface contamination when used to wrap objects Heavy 1200 gsm fabric for increased durability and insulation properties Softer and more flexible than glass fibre fabrics APPLICATION INFO* For protection against sparks, spatter, slag, light molten splash, and intermittent flame Suitable for protecting objects during grinding, welding, oxy cutting, gouging, etc Also a good choice for heat treatment / stress relieving (wrapping of heated objects to slow cooling), being a softer & flexible fabric SPECIFICATIONS Max Recommended Working Temperature: 1100°c Max Short Term / Momentary Heat Resistance: 1600°c Nominal Thickness: 1.2mm (~3mm at hem) Nominal Weight: 1,200g/m2 Colour: Golden brown Fabric Type: Silica glass INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE If protecting critical or costly surfaces / items, allways use more layers initially, and test on a non-critical surface first When using for surface protection: If possible use on an incline of at least 15 degrees, or when neccessary to use in horizontal position add more layers Where the blanket is in closer proximity to the source of sparks etc, consider adding more layers of blanket/fabric as the sparks/spatter will have less time to cool and will be at a higher temperature at the point of touching/impact with the blanket Use hand, eye and respiratory protection during handling and use, to protect against airborn fibres and any dust/debris that has fallen on the blanket during use While blanket will withstand up to 1100°c working temperature, a safety margin should always be allowed for in critical applications. Recommended maximum long-duration direct temperature exposure with safety margin is 700-800°c, or for higher temperatures up to 1100°c use multiple layers. Consider using WB1250+ blankets for more demanding applications Worn or damaged blankets will compromise protection and should be replaced
