The Bleeding Heart (Lamprocapnos spectabilis) is a gorgeous spring flower belonging to the poppy family, found growing over a larger area of Northeast Asia. The outer petals of the flower are bright fuchsia-pink, while the inner petals are stark white. The flowers strikingly resemble the typical heart shape with a droplet beneath, which has earned them their common name. Obviously, I couldn’t resist the romance of a poisonous flower named “bleeding heart”, and its intense fuchsia colour immediately drew me in as a source of inspiration for the colourway. The base of the skein is a bright magenta, overdyed with deep red streaks, and speckled with magenta and a deep, moss-green. Show more
