Ordained in 1925, Miguel Pro was a Jesuit priest in Mexico, where public worship was banned. Nevertheless, Pro continued his ministry in secret, often in disguise. When President C alles' car was bombed, Pro was wrongfully convicted. Hoping to portray Pro as a coward, Calles sent a photograper to the execution.
