Using a technique of ink on watercolor, the precision and the harshness of the black lines perfectly dissect and entangle the fluidity of watercolor, creating a metaphorical struggle that all of us go through when we are just about to bloom & flourish. Untangling from the past, we restart in the present and weave our own future blooming for all to see. I created this piece specially for “Flourish,” an exhibition at the Society of Illustrators that asks the question: “What does Flourish mean to you?” For me, I believe that one can only flourish if one starts untangling the past, present and future by looking within and having the courage to let go and just...breath.
