16" x 16" original gouache painting on watercolor paper. Framing and fine art packing and shipping available. I created this painting as Western Washington was shifting from fall t o winter. The flowers were long dead, the trees almost fully bare. This painting was my protest against winter. The first step in my creative process is to find a reference image. I knew my protest painting had to be a vibrant floral piece, but I didn't yet have the reference image. As I was scrolling through my camera role in search of the perfect image, I stumbled across a photo from 2018, of a booth at the Olympia Farmers Market exploding with zinnias. I instantly knew this was the perfect image for my protest. Show more
