This playful composition is of two fancy flower tail birds I imagined enjoying time together in the garden wearing their favourite hats. The white linen ground is embroidered freel y with red thread by hand and using a basic domestic sewing machine as a drawing tool, building up the textures, patterns and details in the embroidery.
