Blown Away is an original oil painting by Debra Keirce. The painting measures 22 1/2″ x 19 1/2″ with the frame measuring 26″ x 23″, frame included. It feels like, good or bad, ever ything these days is or should be or has to be mind blowing. If it doesn't blow us away, we don't give it attention and really just don't have the bandwidth for it. For me, who loves the details and the unexpected glimpses at everyday beauty, it feels ludicrous to type that sentence. But it's true. Art is a place where I can escape the truth for a moment, or at least stop to see the beauty in it. "Blown Away" is an allegorical still life painting. That's just a fancy way of saying the bubble gum is a metaphor for life. It's bold and full of color that draws you in, but capable of a scary sounding pop every now and again. Show more
