Hydrangeas are one of my absolute favourites—especially the blue ones, which always remind me of Cornwall, where they fill the hedgerows alongside campion and crocosmia. At the beg inning of my still life journey, I often worked from royalty-free images. It was a shift from landscapes, but I found it so mindful and calming—studying how the water caught the light and how once the position of the stems was changed in the water.
