The Blue Jenny charity school stood at 62 Crocker Street in Newport. Founded in 1761 to provide a basic education to impoverished girls, the school operated until the early 20th century. The girls would be taught to read and write, along with enough domestic skills to gain them employment at fourteen. The Blue Jennies were conspicuous in their blue dresses and white aprons and bonnets. Mysterious happenings are still reported within the building, including a spirit wearing the Blue Jenny uniform wandering the landings and a pale-faced girl peering out from a window on the top floor when the building is closed. Our large ghost figurines measure approximately 8cm tall and are hand-made with care on the Isle of Wight, thought to be the most haunted island in the world. Each ghost is completely unique and features an Isle of Wight shaped base. Matt finish. These are normal and add to the character of each spirit, with each one being a true one-of-a-kind.
