Some days illness feels like being held underwater.Time slows. The world narrows. Everything becomes very far away. So I paint currents.Places where things still move. The branches in this piece began to pull across the page almost on their own, like thoughts reaching through water toward the moon. The koi followed afterwards, drifting between them like small pieces of hope refusing to disappear. I called it Blue Pull because that’s what it felt like while I was painting it.The strange gravity of sadness, memory, longing. But also the pull toward beauty. Toward staying alive inside yourself. Painting these worlds gives me somewhere to go when I cannot physically leave the room. Maybe that is why there is always movement in them.
