It uses the same double-junction design as the original probe for stable readings in nutrient solutions, and it ships with a KCl-filled storage cap that keeps the glass tip hydrated between uses. Recalibrate after the swap and your pen is back to fresh-probe performance for well under the price of a new meter. Fits Bluelab pH PenPlus No tools required Double-junction probe Free shipping on orders over $49 30-day returns on all orders Serving growers since 2006 Gallery How to swap the probe Side by side Replacing the whole pen vs. swapping the probe Buying a new pen Pay full price for a new meter when only the probe is worn A working screen, body, and battery compartment go in the trash Set up and learn a new pen from scratch Costs you a whole meter every time the probe wears out Bluelab pH ProbePlus Restores your pH PenPlus for well under the price of a new pen Keep the pen body, screen, and settings you already know Screws on by hand in minutes, no tools required Same double-junction design as the original PenPlus probe KCl-filled storage cap keeps the new probe hydrated Keep a spare on hand so a worn probe never means downtime Key features Why swap the probe instead of the pen Double-junction pH probe ±0.1 pH Two reference junctions instead of one. The outer junction takes the beating from nutrient salts so the inner junction stays clean, giving you the same stable, accurate readings the Bluelab pH PenPlus is known for. Tool-free replacement Unscrew the worn probe from the pen body, screw the ProbePlus on by hand, and recalibrate. The whole swap takes a few minutes and needs nothing but the new probe and your calibration solutions. Measures pH and temperature The ProbePlus replaces both sensors in one piece, so your pen keeps reading pH and solution temperature (°C or °F) on the same screen, just like the day you bought it. KCl-filled storage cap Arrives with a storage cap filled with KCl solution. Keeping the glass tip wet between uses is the single biggest factor in how long a pH probe lasts. Made for the pH PenPlus only Built specifically for the Bluelab pH PenPlus with its screw-off probe. It does not fit the original Bluelab pH Pen, which has a fixed, non-replaceable probe. Zero-downtime spare A probe typically gives 1 to 2 years of reliable use with proper care. Keeping a ProbePlus in the drawer means you can swap and keep measuring the moment readings start to drift. Specs Technical details Compatibility Bluelab pH PenPlus only (not the original pH Pen) pH Range 0.0 to 14.0 pH (with pH PenPlus) Accuracy ±0.1 pH when calibrated Temp Range 0 to 50°C / 32 to 122°F Probe Type Double-junction pH/temperature, replaceable Installation Screw-on, no tools required Storage KCl-filled storage cap included Warranty 6-month warranty on the pH/temperature probe. Proof of purchase required. How to swap in your new pH ProbePlus 1 Remove the worn probe Unscrew the old probe from the base of your pH PenPlus by hand. No tools are needed, and the pen body, screen, and battery stay exactly as they are. 2 Screw on the ProbePlus Screw the new probe onto the pen body by hand until it is fully seated and snug. Keep the storage cap on until you are ready to hydrate. 3 Hydrate and calibrate Soak the new probe tip in KCl storage solution for 24 hours, then run a 2-point calibration with pH 7.0 and pH 4.0 solution. The pen confirms when calibration is successful. 4 Rinse, store, repeat After each use, rinse the probe tip in clean water, then replace the storage cap with a few drops of KCl solution inside. This keeps the probe hydrated and extends its working life. This is the meter the ProbePlus is made for Not sure which pen you have? The pH PenPlus has a probe that unscrews from the pen body; the original Bluelab pH Pen has a fixed probe and cannot use the ProbePlus. Call us and we can help you check: 716-217-0353 / [email protected] Questions Frequently asked questions Will this probe fit my Bluelab pH Pen? Only if you have the Bluelab pH PenPlus. The ProbePlus is made for the PenPlus, whose probe unscrews from the pen body. The original Bluelab pH Pen has a fixed probe that cannot be replaced, so the ProbePlus will not fit it. If you are not sure which pen you have, call us at 716-217-0353 and we will help you check. How do I know it is time to replace the probe? The usual signs are readings that drift or take a long time to settle, and a pen that will not complete calibration even with fresh pH 7.0 and 4.0 solution. Before you replace it, try cleaning the probe with a Bluelab Probe Care Kit (pH) and recalibrating. If it still will not calibrate, the probe has reached the end of its life and it is time to swap. Do I need any tools to install it? No. The worn probe unscrews from the pen body by hand and the ProbePlus screws on the same way. The only other things you need are KCl storage solution to hydrate the new probe and pH 7.0 and 4.0 solution to calibrate it. Do I have to calibrate after swapping the probe? Yes. Every probe is slightly different, so your pen needs a fresh 2-point calibration (pH 7.0 and pH 4.0) with the new probe attached. Hydrate the probe in KCl solution first, then calibrate. The pen shows a confirmation when calibration is successful, and the 30-day calibration reminder takes care of the rest. How long will the new probe last? With proper care (rinsing after use, storing the tip in KCl solution, and recalibrating monthly), a pH probe typically gives 1 to 2 years of reliable use. Letting the tip dry out is the fastest way to shorten that, so always keep a few drops of KCl in the storage cap. Is the pen included? No. This listing is the replacement probe only. If you do not have a pH PenPlus yet, you can get the complete Bluelab pH PenPlus, which already comes with a probe installed, plus calibration and storage solutions.
