Product OverviewThe Bluesound CS1 BPR is a compact endpoint network streamer that adds AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Bluetooth 5.0, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and DLNA playback to any existing AV system with an analog, optical, or coaxial input. Built around a premium Texas Instruments PCM5141 differential DAC, it plays hi-res audio up to 24-bit/192kHz and supports MQA decoding and rendering via both digital outputs, enabling full Master Quality Authenticated playback on compatible downstream DACs. The CS1 BPR is designed for commercial AV integrators adding modern streaming protocols to installed DSP processors, amplifiers, or existing source components without replacing the downstream hardware.Product DescriptionThe CS1 BPR provides three output formats simultaneously — stereo analog RCA, coaxial RCA (75Ω), and optical TOSLINK — allowing it to feed multiple downstream components from a single streamer. The 12V trigger output (3.5mm) enables automatic power sequencing with compatible amplifiers or processors. NFC is included for fast Bluetooth pairing without navigating a menu. The ARM Cortex-A53 quad-core 1.5GHz processor handles multi-protocol streaming without latency, and a 100 Mbps ethernet port or 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi connects the unit to the commercial network.Apple AirPlay 2 allows streaming from any iOS, macOS, or compatible app; Google Chromecast supports up to 24-bit/96kHz from Cast-enabled apps on smartphones, tablets, and computers. Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect let users hand off playback from a mobile device to the CS1 BPR without interruption. DLNA enables streaming at up to 24-bit/192kHz from any DLNA-capable music app or server on the local network. The CS1 BPR is powered via USB-C adapter (5V/1A), keeping the footprint compact for discreet placement inside AV furniture, behind equipment, or in a rack with a USB power port.Key Features Apple AirPlay 2 — Streams from any iPhone, iPad, or Mac audio app directly to the CS1 BPR for easy staff or presenter audio playback in commercial spaces. Google Chromecast — Supports Chromecast audio at up to 24-bit/96kHz from any Cast-enabled app on Android, iOS, or computer. Bluetooth 5.0 with NFC — Fast NFC tap-to-pair Bluetooth with A2DP 1.2 and AVRCP 1.3 profiles; stable long-range connectivity for guest or presenter devices. Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect — Users queue music on a mobile device and hand off playback to the CS1 BPR without maintaining a Bluetooth connection. DLNA to 192kHz/24-bit — Plays from any DLNA/UPnP server on the local network at full hi-res resolution for installations with network-attached audio libraries. MQA Decoding and Rendering — Both digital outputs pass MQA with full decoding and rendering capability for compatible downstream DACs and processors. Three Outputs Simultaneously — Stereo analog RCA, coaxial RCA (75Ω), and optical TOSLINK available simultaneously for flexible connection to downstream components. 12V Trigger Output — 3.5mm trigger output for automatic amplifier or processor power-on/off sequencing in integrated commercial AV systems. TI PCM5141 DAC — Premium differential DAC design for low-noise, high-linearity analog output at 24-bit/192kHz resolution. Compact USB-C Powered — 5V/1A USB-C adapter; small footprint for discreet placement inside AV furniture or behind equipment. Typical Applications Adding AirPlay 2 and Chromecast to existing amplifiers, DSP processors, or AV receivers in commercial spaces Conference rooms requiring presenter device audio playback without cable adapters Hospitality venues adding Bluetooth/AirPlay guest streaming to existing audio systems Corporate all-hands rooms and boardrooms with mixed presenter device environments Training rooms and multi-purpose spaces needing flexible input protocol support Retrofit streaming upgrades for installed commercial audio systems Technical Specifications Parameter Value DAC Texas Instruments PCM5141 (differential) Native Sample Rate Up to 192kHz Bit Depth 16–24 SNR -94dB (ref. 2V) Frequency Response 20–20kHz ±0.3dB; –3dB at 50kHz Analog Output Stereo RCA ×1 Coaxial Output RCA 75Ω ×1 Optical Output TOSLINK ×1 12V Trigger Output 3.5mm mini-jack ×1 Bluetooth 5.0 (A2DP 1.2, AVRCP 1.3); NFC pairing Network (Wired) Ethernet RJ45, 100 Mbps Network (Wireless) Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), 2.4/5GHz Streaming Protocols AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, DLNA/UPnP, Bluetooth Processor ARM Cortex-A53, Quad-Core, 1.5GHz Power USB-C, 100–240V AC / 5V 1A Frequently Asked QuestionsDoes the CS1 BPR require a Bluesound Professional ecosystem to operate? No. The CS1 BPR operates as a standalone streaming endpoint using AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and DLNA. It does not require other BluOS devices and can be added to any existing commercial AV system with analog, optical, or coaxial inputs. Can the 12V trigger be used to power up an amplifier when the CS1 BPR receives a stream?Yes. The 3.5mm 12V trigger output can be wired to compatible amplifiers or AV processors for automatic power sequencing — the amplifier powers on when the CS1 BPR begins receiving audio. What is the maximum resolution supported via AirPlay 2?Apple AirPlay 2 transmits audio at up to 24-bit/48kHz. For higher resolution streaming to 192kHz/24-bit, use DLNA/UPnP from a compatible server or Tidal Connect.Does the CS1 BPR support MQA passthrough to an external DAC?Yes. Both the coaxial and optical digital outputs pass MQA data with full decoding and rendering capability, enabling a connected MQA-certified DAC or processor to perform full MQA playback. What is the warranty on the CS1 BPR?Bluesound Professional products are backed by a manufacturer warranty.
