Born and raised in South Korea, she immigrated to the United States at the age of 16. Her journey eventually led her to New York City, where she immersed herself in its vibrant cultural and artistic environment while pursuing higher education. Christine built a successful 18-year career in interior design, working with major financial institutions and retail clients. Throughout this time, she remained dedicated to her first creative love: painting. Over the years, her artistic practice evolved into a full-time pursuit, allowing her to channel her emotional and spiritual insights through contemporary abstract expression. Her work explores themes of memory, identity, and the unconscious self, often drawing from past experiences and personal reflections. Through expressive mark-making and layered abstraction, Christine seeks to communicate the invisible forces that shape human perception and emotional depth. She also creates translucent paintings that express our deep inner calmness and the unconscious mind of our being, using transparency as a metaphor to reveal the subtle layers of human consciousness. Christine holds a BFA in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology, and dual master's degrees in Sustainability and Real Estate Development from the Fashion Institute of Technology and the University of Miami. She is currently studying abstract painting at the Art Students League of New York.
