The BMP61 uses Brady’s M61 series media cartridges including vinyl, polyester, nylon cloth, heat-shrink tubing, and laminated labels in widths up to 2". The printer uses M61-series ribbon cartridges (included: M61-R6010 black ribbon). MTE Solutions carries a broad selection of BMP61-compatible media — contact us for availability. Does the BMP61 require a PC to design labels? No — the BMP61 features a standalone color touchscreen interface for designing, previewing, and printing labels directly on the device. For complex designs or serialization, Brady Workstation software connects via USB. How long does the battery last, and can I use AC power continuously? The rechargeable NiMH battery supports portable operation. For high-volume bench printing (up to 750 labels/day), the included AC adapter/charger is recommended. The AC adapter also charges the battery while in use. What is the difference between the BMP61 and the Brady BMP71? The BMP71 supports wider labels (up to 4") and higher daily print volumes, suited for sign and pipe marker applications. The BMP61 is more compact with a 2" max width focused on wire markers, terminal labels, and asset tags. Note: the BMP61 has been discontinued — see the Brady M610-KIT as its replacement. What is included in the box with the BMP61?
