How to Apply Board Buddy Quick & Easy Steps: Clean the board Wash your cutting board with warm soapy water. Rinse well and dry it completely (let it air dry for a few hours or overnight). Never apply Board Buddy to a wet board. Apply the butter Scoop a small amount of Board Buddy with your fingers or a clean cloth. Rub it evenly over all surfaces (top, bottom, and sides). Use enough to leave a thin layer, the wood will absorb what it needs. Let it soak Leave the butter on for at least 1-2 hours, ideally overnight for best results. This allows the oils to penetrate deep into the wood. Buff off excess Wipe away any leftover residue with a clean, dry cloth until the board feels smooth and dry. Frequency New or dry boards: Apply 3-4 times initially, waiting a day between coats. Regular maintenance: Every 2-4 weeks, or whenever the board looks dry.
