Bois d'Encens is a Robertet all-natural speciality in which olibanum is co-distilled with cedarwood. Co-distillation is the process in which two or more materials are turned into a single essential-oil type material by combining them prior to or during distillation. Bois d'Encense has the sweetness of fine Virginian cedarwood with the majesty and richesse of exotic frankincense. It is a wonderful material that can be used at quite high amounts. Replace all of some of the cedarwood in your scent for a more oriental touch, or just wrap it in some refined musks or a monolithic accord like Grojsman Plus for a finished perfume. Bois d'Encens blends wonderfully with smoky Cade oil or Birch tar but don't neglect the Fraterworks treasure Bouleau Pyrogene 1840 which is enormously popular. This also combines marvellously with Artemal and, if you are not tied to IFRA requirements, pure Tree Moss Absolute.
