Nelumbo nucifera ‘Flower Alert’ — medium lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber. Bold Protector blooms all summer long. The large single red flower is held high above glossy green leaves. The wide and perfectly balanced petals can be striated with lines of color and the color stays true as the flower ages. The seed pods are often red and can be up to 5" wide and produce fertile seed.
