The Drop Cheek has an Eggbutt like ring at the mouthpiece for the rein, with an upper cheek that has a ring at its end, to which the cheek piece of the bridle is attached. The mouthpiece does not slide on its ring resulting in light poll pressure. The cheek pieces lie flat against the horse’s face, and the mouthpiece is quite fixed in the mouth and concentrates pressure on the bars. Our Snaffle is a popular bit due to the curved mouthpiece which distributes pressure more evenly over tongue and bars and reduces the nutcracker action. The offset centre link avoids the usual pressure point on the tongue. The nutcracker action results in the horse lifting its head, therefore offers a solution for the horse that runs with its head down. Cheekpiece The cheekpiece is available in 2 sizes, standard and a slightly smaller model for a pony. Mouthpiece The mouthpiece can be optionally extra curved, creating a more comfortable bend than the conventional, which reduces pinch and spreads pressure points around the bars.
