Product information Pearls: Freshwater pearls, individually selected for shape, form, and size; the pattern ranges from approximately 1 mm to 10 mm. Construction: Strung on steel wire manufactured in the United States. Clasp: A polished .925 sterling-silver Monolith clasp with a rectangular slide-and-twist mechanism. Lengths: Choose 38 cm or 42 cm, or select Customised for a tailored length. Design & Making Each necklace is assembled in the Auckland studio. The pearls vary in shape and size, and are selected to create a balanced, flowing silhouette. The Monolith clasp was designed and prototyped in New Zealand and manufactured by a specialist partner in China. Its rectangular slide-and-twist mechanism makes the clasp a visible part of the necklace, and it can interlink with other Monolith pieces. Read Inside the Monolith: A Conversation About the Collection for more about the Monolith collection. Wear & care Three people test-wore this necklace for two weeks. Showering and swimming are not recommended for pearl health, and sleeping in the necklace is possible but not recommended. The steel wire may stretch by approximately 2–3%, especially when wet. Keep the clasp under tension by positioning it at the back or side of the neck. Clean and maintain the clasp as you would standard sterling silver. Choosing your length Choose 38 cm or 42 cm for the standard lengths, or select Customised for a tailored length. Service A size swap may be available within 14 days of receiving your necklace. Shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility where applicable. Contact the studio for an assessment.
