He is tricked by swindlers with counterfeit banknotes, and to make amends for the damage he caused his friends, he returns to Prague to track down Richard, the man who sold him the fake money. Despite several clashes with Richard's money-changing gang, Martin eventually becomes a money-changer himself and joins Richard's crew, but his promising "career" is thwarted by a confrontation with a much stronger and influential group of dealers, led by the cunning Karel.
