The illustrations were done by Niquey and they beautifully portray the setting of the story; Amari playing his various games and interacting with his family and friends. Bingham's story is a great example of why parental and family support is crucial to a child's success. All children need to feel supported and encouraged, especially when taking on new endeavors. I think an amazing and teachable incident in the story occurred when Amari had a fall while trying to skate, but his mom was there to encourage, support him, and he got back up to continue learning. That is a lesson for both children and adults. A family-oriented story that would be a great addition to your library.
