Featuring ceramic with a crystal glaze, the pieces are edged with platinum or gold. The collection is finished with a reactive glaze that fires slightly differently every time, adding to the unique beauty of the pieces. Michael Wainwright has been getting his hands dirty in clay since the age of 7. When he graduated from NYU in 1991 with a degree in clay sculpture, he didn't know what to do for a living, so he sold his handmade wares in street fairs and craft shows around New York City on weekends, carting his wares on a handtruck on the subway.
