Friday, June 13, 7-10pm Join Christie Rafol, founder of The Thiiirds, for a special two-part workshop that blends the transformative power of sound with the magic of art and nature. The evening will begin with a guided sound journey, using crystal singing bowls and various percussion instruments to facilitate self-reflection and internal clarity. With inspiration unleashed, you are then invited to create watercolor paintings using Botanical Alchemy-- the process of turning florals into color-shifting ink- for your own compositions. Christie will demonstrate how to extract pigment from plant matter, as well as give tips on how you can continue your Botanical Alchemy practice at home. She will also provide instruction on techniques that blend modern and traditional watercolor techniques for your compositions. Please bring a yoga mat or blanket to lay on for the sound journey (option to bring a blanket/sweater to regulate your body temperature). Space is limited: 8 Max CapacityNo experience is necessary. Her passions have led her to birth The Thiiirds, a communal investigation of invisible, theoretical, and physical space and a collective exploration of how art and design can be used as a tool for societal and personal development to create better futures and realities, here and now. She believes in the power of our imaginations and assists others in awakening their innate creativity through somatic experiences. In 2024, she completed a Certificate for Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice in Design from The New School, NY and is also trained in leading 2-stage Pranayama Breathwork and Sound Therapy.
