This Botanical is all softness at scale. Big blowsy peonies open in blush, cream and apricot with gold stamens at their centres, white narcissus cluster between them and small yell ow flowers fill the gaps, while blue grey and sage leaves curl behind in a way that owes something to old damask. The pale sage ground barely shows. Painted at this size it works on a chair or a headboard as readily as on a dress.
