Broad shade trees have contributed shade , shelter and resource to all people in this land for longer than we can remember. Notably, bur oak is even roost for migrating monarch butterflies. Bottomland bur may be better tolerant to mesic (medium) to slightly moist sites. Large acorns are a wildlife favorite and a childhood wonder.
