"These beautiful horses inhabit the last operating ranch within the borders of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. “I’ve spent countless mornings meandering through Jackson Hole, waiting to see how the rising sun’s rays would illuminate the Teton Range’s majestic peaks. This tradition is typically futile, as so many factors have to be in alignment for a truly memorable moment. “Fortunately, this was just such a morning. Even though the sky was cloudy, just enough sunlight snuck through the clouds to softly bathe the Grand Teton in a purple-orange hue. Of course, the true highlight of this moment was this group of horses grazing, seemingly perfectly placed and posed. I had mere seconds to make this capture, as the light was soon blocked by the clouds, and the horses didn’t stay in such a photogenic position for very long. I’m incredibly grateful to have witnessed this, not just because of how special it was, but because I am certain this will never be repeated.”
