A large and wonderfully textured floral still life by French artist Paulette Genet. A glass vase of flowers sits on a small table beside an open window, the whole composition paint ed in thick, expressive strokes of soft blue, cream, yellow and bright flashes of red. The pale interior, white chair and loosely suggested window give the painting a lovely sense of light and space, while the flowers bring colour and energy to the centre of the scene.
