Third generation vine-grower Bernard Bouvier has commanded his family's domaine since taking over in 1992. Bernard modernized many of the practices, introducing organic and biodynamic practices, and elevating the domaine's stature even further on the global wine stage than it already was. Harvested from 55 year old vines from a plot sandwiched between the Grand Crus of Clos de Tart, Bonnes Mares and Clos des Lambrays—3 of the best sites in all of burgundy—this is a 50% whole-cluster fermented Pinot Noir, matured for 12 months in oak barrel (50% new), followed by an additional 6 months in stainless steel prior to bottling unfined and unfiltered, and it is gorgeous. A symphony of red fruits, forest floor and black fruits. Smoothly integrated tannins and remarkable freshness are highlights, along with a structure that will allow for extended aging if desired. 13.0% ABV
