Our colostrum is collected from pasture-raised, grass-fed, antibiotic-free and hormone-free cows. Bovine colostrum can be used in many different species. How is the colostrum collected? The calves get the colostrum all to themselves for the first 12 hours. After that, the colostrum is collected and shared with the calf. This ensures the calves are protected and healthy since they are a future part of the family farms we work with. Calves are never separated from their mothers, even during collection time. This ensures the best quality colostrum and an ethical approach to farming. After collection, the colostrum is gently dried into a powder form. Can colostrum help support the gut? One of the primary ingredients in colostrum is proline-rich polypeptide (PRP), which is known to help maintain a balanced immune response. Colostrum also contains immunoglobulins (IgG and IgA) that can help support a healthy gut and a balanced immune response. If my dog has a beef sensitivity, can he still take colostrum? If your dog has a beef sensitivity, he may still tolerate colostrum since the proteins are different. Colostrum also contains a lot less lactose than milk, so can be tolerated by some dogs with lactose intolerance.
