The Box Hex Lab Mini Front-Load Stem is a technical masterpiece of Box's Oversized Technology design philosophy. You can tell right away just by looking at the shape of the 3D cold forged aluminum shape that this stem is different. Following the Oversized ethos, they’ve moved material from low-stress parts of the stem to the high-stress areas where it is actually needed. This results in a stronger and lighter stem with a large clamping surface. The idea here is to increase the stiffness of the handlebars in relation to the pedals allowing for better, stronger, and more reliable power transfer. Cool feature of this stem is the hollow chromoly clamping bolts...gotta save as much weight as possible, right? This stem will only fit a 1" steerer tube, and handlebars with a 28.6mm diameter clamping area.
