The Trapezium sits wide at the base and tapers slightly towards the top: modern, and softer than a plain square.Those fixing holes are slotted, not round. A solid wood top moves across the grain as the seasons change, and the slots let it move with the fixings rather than against them.How long you can go is down to your top, not the legs. A long top in thin ply or MDF will flex between the pair, and that flex is what you feel as a wobble.
