Requires heavy aeration during treatment. Chemi-Clean Treatment Planning and Safety Notes Chemi-Clean treatment affects normal filtration routines, so prepare the aquarium before dosing. Increase oxygen with heavy aeration or a large air stone, remove carbon or Chemi-Pure, turn off UV sterilizers and ozonizers, and keep normal water movement running with pumps or powerheads. Protein skimmers may overflow during treatment and may need adjustment or collection cup removal. Boyd Chemi-Clean Directions Increase aquarium oxygen levels using heavy aeration or a large air stone. Turn off UV sterilizers and ozonizers. Remove Chemi-Pure, carbon, or similar chemical filtration during treatment. Continue normal water flow with pumps and powerheads. Dissolve one level scoop of Chemi-Clean per 10 gallons of aquarium water in a cup of aquarium water. Pour the dissolved treatment evenly back into the aquarium. Allow up to 48 hours for treatment. Perform a 20% water change after the 48 hour treatment period. Replace removed chemical filtration with new media and restart UV or ozone equipment after treatment.
