Boyd Chemi-Pure 10 oz Original Filtration Media for up to 50 Gallons This 10 oz Chemi-Pure size is built for aquariums that need the original Chemi-Pure media blend in a larger treatment capacity. It is pre-packed in a nylon filter bag and can be used in sumps, canister filters, and hang-on-back filters where water can flow through the media. Original Chemi-Pure Carbon and Ion Exchange Media for Clearer Water 10 oz media unit treats up to 50 gallons. Suitable for freshwater and saltwater aquariums. Useful for African cichlid, discus, community, and marine systems. Helps remove copper, phenol, odours, colour, and dissolved pollutants. Supports clear aquarium water without removing trace elements according to Boyd. Uses QuickWash Carbon for easier rinsing and reduced dust. Recommended replacement interval is approximately 2 to 4 months depending on bio-load. Chemi-Pure 10 oz Filter Placement and Replacement Notes For best performance, place the media at the end stage of filtration where it receives good exposure and steady water movement. Do not open the nylon bag or split the media. If more than one media bag is installed, replace bags gradually rather than changing all chemical media at the same time. Boyd Chemi-Pure Directions Keep Chemi-Pure sealed wet until the media is ready to use. Remove the nylon filter bag from the container. Rinse under running water for 5 to 10 seconds. Place the media bag in a high-flow area of the sump, canister filter, or hang-on-back filter. Do not place the media bag inside a filter sock. Replace approximately every 2 to 4 months based on bio-load and water clarity. Replace multiple media bags one at a time each week if more than one is being used.
