When I first started my healing journey from sexual abuse I was going to therapy weekly to address my childhood. Even though it was good for me, it opened the door to a lot of buri ed trauma. Flashbacks, nightmares, and daily triggers became the norm. As a result, I got depressed. I don’t regret this part of my journey. Part of healing is allowing ourselves to feel the good as well as the bad. After an extremely bad day, I found myself on the floor saying, “This day sucked.” I know bad days are a part of life, but I was having a lot of them, and I didn’t like that. I didn’t want to get into the pattern of feeling like I was always having a bad day. So, whenever I felt like I had a bad day, I would challenge myself to find the good in it.This soon became a fun game that I would play with myself at the end of the day. I called it my “High of the Day” game. Doing this took my focus off of the bad and put it on the good. I soon became happier and developed a healthier mindset. This practice became my favorite part of the day. When the idea of SUP came about I knew I had to make a High of the Day wristband. But calling it that didn’t feel right; I thought it would be misinterpreted. So I decided to call it the “Good in Every Day” wristband. I hope this wristband can be a reminder to find the good in every day, even on the hard days, because there is good in every day. Show more
