In 1941, the four-axle railcars received their last new number and were now called ET 89 01 &ndash, 11. Apart from ET 89 11, which had to be decommissioned in 1943 due to an accident, all saw the end of the war and the end of electric rail transport in Silesia. Four railcars went to the PKP. The whereabouts of three others is unknown. They presumably entered the central German network when Silesia was evacuated and were taken to the USSR as part of war reparations. ET 89 01, 04 and 07 got as far as the western occupation zones and thus became part of the DB founded in 1949. The last remaining Rü, bezahl was in service at the Munich main railway station depot. Initially used as 2nd and 3rd class carriages, later photos show it as a third class vehicle only, which then became exclusively 2nd class after the class reform in 1956. It was usually used as a personnel vehicle for transporting railway workers between the Munich stations. Its final hour came on 02.09.1959 &ndash, ET 89 04 is decommissioned as the last of its type and dismantled a short time later, so that today only a few photos serve as a reminder of the unique railcars.
