Adding a certain amount of breadcrumbs to semi-finished culinary products increases their thickness and cohesiveness (minced meat). In addition to the kitchen, the breadcrumbs are used as fishing groundbait, or as food for birds or fish. Due to its hygroscopicity, it should be stored in a dry place as it may squeeze or rot.
