This painting feels like a deep exhale after a long day. The horizon is soft and blurry, with layers of deep blue, indigo, and warm cream blending into each other in a way that I hope makes you think of salty sea air. It reminds me of sitting in a library or study with one lamp on or a candle burning, with everything finally still for a moment. A place to gather your thoughts, to contemplate… a place for gratitude. It's styled somewhere dark and moody, but this would also look great in a light, bright and airy space! That's the beauty of the contrast in this piece – it looks great anywhere! (We currently have it in our Cozy Room). I kept the palette simple and muted because I wanted the piece to bring a sense of calm into a room. This is the kind of painting that softens the noise a little and gives you somewhere peaceful to land. (My lowkey favorite part is the tiny seagulls!)
