A coastal harbour view painted in 1945, showing a curving breakwater, calm water and low shoreline buildings set beneath an open sky. The composition is cleanly structured, with broad areas of sea balanced against the solidity of land and architecture. Executed in a restrained palette of blue-greys, soft greens and muted earth tones, the painting has an easy tonal quality that sits comfortably in contemporary interiors. The simplified forms and open horizon give it a calm presence, while subtle shifts in colour provide depth. A very calm, relaxing painting, especially suited to a bedroom. Oil on canvas by Astrid Harms-Ringdahl (Sweden, 1912-1984) and dated 1945. Label on the reverse: label for the formative arts 1947. Dimensions 38x55cm framed.
