Our Breathe chart is not only a relaxing canvas to stitch and a beautiful reminder to BREATHE, it's a helpful mental health tool. The Breathe chart demonstrates Box Breathing or Four-square breathing, a rhythmic breathing technique that promotes relaxation, improves focus, encourages emotional regulation, and reduces stress. Research suggests that rhythmic breathing can help with pain management, improving sleep, lowering blood pressure, and calming the nervous system. This is a tool Kelty, a licensed psychotherapist, teaches in her private practice. This design is handpainted on 13 mesh canvas. Instructions for using the Breathe chart: Start in the upper right corner where you see the letter I. I stands for Inhale. Inhale for eight counts. Your eyes will follow the eight arrows down the right side of the chart. Once you get to the O (O stands for Out), you will exhale out for eight counts as your eyes follow the arrows on the bottom of the chart. Continue around the "box" following the prompts. Circle around the box 4-8 times. This can be used as many times throughout the day as you need. The more you practice, the easier the tool becomes to use in moments of need.
