Breitling returns to outer space The Navitimer Cosmonaute was born on May 24, 1962, when astronaut Scott Carpenter orbited Earth three times as part of NASA’s Mercury-Atlas 7 mission. On his wrist was a one-of-a-kind Breitling Navitimer, custom-built for space with a 24-hour dial. Since this pioneering journey as the first Swiss watch in outer space, the Navitimer Cosmonaute has remained a trusted companion for astronauts.
