Japan has a simple flowing design but is very easy to grip and comfortable to hold. The half colour glaze reveals the fine smooth textured red clay that was used by the Mino artisan potters. Brick Mugs are made using a special technique called 'one-piece moulding' in which both the body and handle are made from the same mould giving an attractive smooth, flowing curve from body to the handle. Chips Inc. created this work together with artisans from the Mino Province using Mino materials and techniques.
