Overview Genuine Briggs & Stratton part number 691035 — Fuel Filter. 40- micron See-through fuel filter What it fits Verified against the Briggs & Stratton parts documentation Carpet Cleaners Warehouse holds for the engines fitted to HydraMaster truckmounts: HydraMaster Boxxer 318 — engine Model Series 356400, listed as Filter--Fuel, reference 240A Briggs & Stratton build the same part into many engines. This list is what we can verify from the parts manuals we hold — it is not a statement that the part fits nothing else. Identifying your engine Briggs & Stratton engines are identified by model, type and code, stamped or printed on a label on the engine itself. The same HydraMaster machine model has been built with more than one engine over the years, and parts changed at specific code dates within a single engine model. If you are ordering for a machine you have not worked on before, read the engine label rather than assuming from the truckmount model. It takes a minute and it is the difference between the right part and a return. Service advice Change it on the engine manufacturer's schedule, and sooner on a machine working in dust. Truckmount and restoration work is harder on filters than the hour meter suggests. Do not judge a filter by its face. Look at it against the light and look at the downstream side. Filters are the cheapest protection an engine has. The economics of skipping one have never worked out in anybody's favour. Frequently asked questions Is this a genuine Briggs & Stratton part? Yes — supplied under Briggs & Stratton part number 691035. Which machine is it for? HydraMaster Boxxer 318, from the parts documentation above. Check your engine label if you are unsure. How many does my engine take? Quantities vary by engine and by assembly. Tell us the engine numbers and we will check the parts list rather than have you order one and find you needed two. What else should I replace at the same time? Ask us. Once an assembly is apart, the gaskets, seals and fasteners around the part you came for are the cheap half of the job — and the half that brings the machine back if it is skipped. Send us the model, type and code numbers from your engine label and we will confirm the correct part, the quantity, and anything else worth doing while you are in there.
