This pure but full body expression of the varietal starts with a lovely, forward floral-scented aspect, and progresses to a meaty/smoky side, cedar wood and loads of red fruit aromas. The wine has spent 8 months in 225L French oak barrels delivering fresh acidity and firm tannins, balanced by a supple and ripe character with enough extracts to linger on the palate. Flavours of red cherry, strawberry, blueberry jam, red pepper, milk chocolate and red licorice. The long and pulsing finish offers spices like Christmas cake, and freshly cracked white pepper.
