We normally cut for the "American direction" as this is the most popular direction.As a result when we reverse our patterns to cut in the "British direction" some fabric is lost, w hich is why there is an extra charge. If we do not have enough silk then we won't be able to offer this option. Please email us to confirm if we can do a British stripe.Please note that the "British direction" is not always used in the UK in some regiments for example the stripes are in the "American direction". Also if you do not belong to a regiment or organization it is not suggested to use the "British direction" as a matter of courtesy to the organization members. Show more
