Broccoli is in the brassica plant family and can be eaten either raw or cooked. It is comprised of tiny, bead like flowers that form a large head, on a tree like structure branchin g from a large stem. Broccoli is a particularly rich source of vitamin C and vitamin K. Broccoli is most nutritious when cooked by steaming or by adding to stir fry near the end of cooking so that it remains fairly firm.
