Purple SproutingBrassica oleracea var. italica 'Purple Sprouting' Hi, this project is the start of a page of leaves from edible plants. Everyone always seems so frightened of green and leaves, so I think it's great to concentrate on them once in a while. I love the blue tones on this leaf and the sculptural look to it. this shows you how to break down the sections of the leaf to have smaller areas to paint wet in wet. I also show how I use soft 'tea' washes which can help build the nuances in the colours across the leaf. I hope you like the subject and have a go. I am using the 640gsm Fabriano extra white enhanced paper for this series of leaves, but you don't have to, I am aware that not everyone loves it.
