Place BM5 over the top and secure the layers as your project requires. Embroider a test first, then stitch the finished piece without stretching or distorting the fabric. Carefully remove excess film and dissolve the remaining material in water, following the pack and fabric care directions. A topping does not replace the backing beneath your fabric. The two layers have different jobs: one controls surface pile, while the other supports the design during stitching. Good to know How is BM5 different from BM6? BM5 is a film commonly used as a topping. BM6 is a water-soluble non-woven support, useful for lace and techniques needing that different structure. Can I use it on an item that cannot be washed?
