Rinse 1 cup rice well before combining with 2 cups water and a hefty pinch or half a teaspoon of salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stir, reduce heat, and cover. Let simmer for 50 minutes without stirring. After 50 minutes or when water has been absorbed, remove from heat, let sit 5 minutes covered, then fluff with a fork and serve.
