Released: 22/05/26 Soul Jazz Records are releasing three albums by Brown Spirits as ultra-limited coloured vinyl editions of just 500 copies each, all deleted on release. Originally issued in very small, now long-unavailable runs—either self-released or via a German psych label—Brown Spirits #2 and #3 are currently impossible to find, while earlier Soul Jazz titles Cosmic Seeds and Solitary Transmissions are also sold out on vinyl. Hailing from Melbourne, alongside acts like Amyl and the Sniffers, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and Tropical Fuck Storm, Brown Spirits—Tim Wold, Agostino Soldati, and Ash Bushcombe—play heavy, high-energy psychedelic rock influenced by krautrock, free jazz, and 1970s funk. Recording and mixing to ¼-inch analogue tape at home, the trio maintain a strict DIY ethos, resulting in a raw, immersive sound and cult following.
